Nurses

At Newton-Conover City Schools we have three registered nurses employed by Catawba County Public Health to serve our school system. The School Health Nursing Program is based on the belief that the health status of students has a direct influence upon their educational achievement. Each student is encouraged to reach for his/her healthy future. The School Nurses strive to assist students in reaching and maintaining optimum health by providing services such as, screenings, counseling, and referrals. The School Nurses work cooperatively with community agencies to provide continuity of care for students & their families The School Nurse assists with the planning and implementation of Health Education curriculum and training for students as well as school staff.
