Appalachian State University and Catawba Valley Community College are joining with North Carolina State University to offer several week-long summer camps with the goal of introducing engineering to students through hands-on activities and exploration. |

The camp will have a STEM focus (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics). Students will utilize 21st century skills including critical thinking, collaboration, communication, and creativity. This camp is specially designed for AIG students. |

Inventive Builder |

Builders ages 10 to 14 will construct LEGO® builds with the opportunity to execute designs utilizing architectural and structural principles. There are also hundreds of LEGO® sets for the more advanced builder to create inventive and complex creations. Lessons are offered in architecture, design and robotics. The robotics program combines the unlimited versatility of the LEGO® building system with an intelligent microcomputer brick and intuitive programming software. |
