I have been fortunate to have had a wide variety of educational experiences that have prepared me for supporting curriculum and instruction in this district.
I served as a Regional Professional Development Consultant for the North Carolina Department of Public Instruction and as an adjunct professor at Lenoir-Rhyne University. Prior to these experiences, I served as a curriculum specialist in Hickory City Schools, and a high school English teacher and coach in both Hickory City Schools and Wilkes County Schools. In 2002, I achieved my National Board Certification.
I have a Bachelor’s degree in Secondary English Education from Western Carolina University where I was a North Carolina Teaching Fellow. I completed my Master’s degree in Gifted Education at the University of North Carolina – Charlotte. I completed my Doctorate in Educational Leadership at Western Carolina University.
I am delighted to be a part of the Newton-Conover Family.
