Newton-Conover City Schools

The NCCS Board of Education recognized Child Nutrition Manager, Rebecca Doty for her service of excellence on November 15, 2021.

The NCCS Board of Education also recognized NCMS Teacher, Chasity Bolch for her service to our district.

On Monday, November 15, 2021, the NCCS Board of Education recognized NCMS Teacher Susan Ramsey for excellent service to our students and district.

The Newton-Conover Middle School Wrestling Team from 2020 was recognized at the November 15, 2021 Board Meeting for their successful season. We were unable to recognize earlier due to pandemic.

Amber Humphrey is in her second stint as Instructional Coach at Shuford Elementary School. She has also served as Principal at South Newton Elementary School, so she has a unique skill set that is a benefit for her school community. She has a great sense of humor and helps put staff and students at ease. Her love of the process of teaching and learning is evident.

Tammy Sharpe is in her first year as Instructional Coach at South Newton Elementary School. Tammy has had an extensive career as a teacher and Assistant Principal and brings that wealth of expertise to her new role. Tammy taught at South Newton Elementary School the past couple of school years and did an excellent job with her students. She is a great asset to the teachers at South Newton Elementary School!!

Mischele Glover is in her third year as Instructional Coach at North Newton Elementary School. She has enjoyed a career in Newton-Conover City Schools as an accomplished teacher at Shuford Elementary School. Mrs. Glover is very thoughtful in her interactions and very skilled in supporting instructional staff. She is an essential part of North Newton Elementary School.

Erin Sims is in her first year as Assistant Principal at South Newton Elementary School. She was a dynamic teacher at Newton-Conover Middle School and was named the district Teacher of the Year while teaching at N-CMS. Erin has a strong instructional background but also has excellent leadership ability which makes her an ideal candidate to serve at SNES. She will be a huge asset to the SNES community for years to come!! #ThankAPrincipal

Jill Hager brings a wealth of experience and expertise to the Assistant Principal role at North Newton Elementary School. She taught at Thornton Elementary and became the Instructional Coach at North Newton Elementary School when it opened. Jill has also served as an Intervention Specialist for N-CCS where she provided support for our most at-risk students at the elementary school level. Jill’s compassion, passion, and vision make her very unique and perfectly suited to serve as Assistant Principal at NNES!! #ThankAPrincipal

Jennifer Greene is in her second year as Assistant Principal at Newton-Conover Middle School. Mrs. Greene previously served in the Hickory Public Schools where she was a Teacher Leadership Specialist. We are delighted to have her strong curriculum and instruction background in N-CCS and look for her to continue to have a positive impact on the staff and students of N-CMS!! #ThankATeacher

Dr. Rosanna Whisnant is in her 3rd year at North Newton Elementary School. She has also served as Student Services Director for N-CCS and principal of Newton-Conover Middle School. During her tenure at Newton-Conover Middle School, she was named Principal of the Year for our system and turned the school around from low performing to a North Carolina Trailblazer Middle School. She is a dynamic leader with a track record of high student performance and school improvement. She has a passion for teacher development which is evidenced by the steady flow of student teachers in her building. Along with leading North Newton Elementary School, she is also architecting a program to identify and develop current N-CCS students into future teachers for the school system. She is a great asset to the North Newton community. #ThankAPrincipal

Ashley Pack is an Assistant Principal at Newton-Conover Middle School. She also served as an Instructional Coach at North Newton Elementary School and was a Physical Education Instructor at Shelby Middle School. She is a leader in our system in the use of Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports. She has a great handle on operations and designs effective processes to implement initiatives. Mrs. Pack has a contagious energy and her positivity brightens the day for fellow staff and students. N-CCS is appreciative of Ashley’s strong work ethic and leadership in our system. #ThankATeacher
