The Summit at Newton-Conover

Newton-Conover City Schools is partnering with Catawba Valley Community College to bring College and Career Promise (CCP) to Newton-Conover’s two high schools.  In the past, students at both NCHS and DHS have had the opportunity to take CCP courses on the campus of CVCC.  However, next year, juniors at both schools will be able to take classes in a CCP cohort that will meet first period at the Central Office (previously Discovery High School).

Classrooms will be set up, tuition and books will be paid by NCCS, and transportation will be provided for participating students. Qualifying participating students can earn upwards of 28 hours of transferable college credit while still in high school for free. Moreover, CCP courses carry honors level weight. This exciting opportunity begins with the rising junior class.

Approximately 40 NCHS and DHS students are enrolled in the CCP program at The Summit at Newton-Conover.
