SPECIAL CALLED MEETING ANNOUNCEMENT
The Newton-Conover City Schools Board of Education will hold a Special Called Meeting on:
Date: Friday, June 19, 2026
Time: 5:30 PM
Location: Newton-Conover City Schools BOE Room, 605 N. Ashe Ave., Newton, NC
Purpose: Discuss and vote on the following items: CTE Local Plan; Food and Vendor Bids; Conover School Interlocal Agreement; Continuing Budget Resolution; Budget Amendments; and July Board meeting date; also, the Board will conduct a closed session pursuant to NCGS § 143.318.11(a)(1) and (3) and may take action in regular session following the closed session on items discussed during closed session.
Special called meetings of North Carolina local boards of education are governed by N.C. Gen. Stat. § 115C-41 and the North Carolina Open Meetings Law, N.C. Gen. Stat. § 143-318.12. A special called meeting may address only those matters specified in the notice of the meeting. Notice of the meeting must be posted and provided to the public and media at least 48 hours in advance. A quorum of the board must be present in order to conduct business and take official action, including the adoption of motions and resolutions.
This notice will be posted on the Newton-Conover City Schools website, social media, and at the Board of Education office.
