N-CCS will be closed for the Thanksgiving Holidays.


The All-County Choral Clinic was Friday, November 22 and Saturday, November 23. The concert was held at 1:30pm at Corinth Reformed Church in Hickory. The clinician was Gwen McLeod Hall. Congratulations to Newton-Conover City School Students who participated!



Newton-Conover City Schools appreciates and loves our substitutes!


Dr. Gabriel conducted his annual student focus groups around the school system. He enjoys these because he is able to obtain student feedback. He received valuable feedback regarding our schools from our most important stakeholder group, our students. The feedback will be shared with the respective building leaders to help improve our service to our students. Thank you to these young leaders for their candid participation!!


Members of the N-CCS EC Department attended the 73rd Annual Exceptional Children's Conference last week. Ms. Rebecca Shaeffer, Conover School teacher, was recognized state-wide as the Educator of Excellence representing N-CCS.


The N-CCS Board of Ed also recognized Jim Stockner for his 20+ years of service on the board. He also steps down this year. Thank you for your service to NCCS!

During the November 19, 2024 NCCS Board of Ed Meeting, long-time Board Member Jeanne Jarrett was recognized for her years of dedication as a board member. She is stepping down this year. Thank you Ms. Jarrett!

Discovery High School Community members Jody Dixon, Doug Greenwald, Trina Williams, and Luke Walling were recognized by the NCCS Board of Ed for their contributions to the school.

The NCCS Board of Ed recognized all of the staff of Discovery High School for their continued hard work and dedication to their students!

Discovery High School Students Bryson Smith, Melinda Cassell and Zoe Kaylor were recognized by the NCCS Board of Education on 11-18-24 for their accomplishments as students!

The Newton-Conover Middle School Boys Soccer Team was recognized by the NCCS Board of Ed for being Conference Champions in 2024! Congrats!

On November 18. 2024 N-CCS Board of Education recognized the NCHS JV Men's Soccer Team for being JV CVAC Champions in 2024! Congrats!

Newton-Conover High School JROTC presented colors at the N-CCS Board Meeting on 11-19-24. Presenting were: Left Rifle, Cadet Seaman Luna; American Flag and Commanding, Cadet Chief Petty Officer Yang; State Flag, Cadet Ensign Unverferth; Right Rifle, Cadet Petty Officer Third Class Goyco.

NEWTON-CONOVER EDUCATION FOUNDATION HOLDS ANNUAL GOLF TOURNAMENT
The Newton-Conover Educational Foundation will hold its annual Christmas for the Children Golf Tournament this Saturday, November 16, 2024 at the Rock Barn Country Club and Spa in Conover. The bulk of the money raised for this event will support the Newton-Conover City Schools Kids in Need Fund.
The Newton-Conover Education Foundation is a non-profit organization established to support the educational success of Newton-Conover communities through scholarships, awards, recognitions, and its Kids in Need Fund. The Kids in Need Fund provides financial resources for the educational, medical and safety needs of students and families of Newton-Conover City Schools.
The Christmas for the Children Golf Tournament is in its 15th year this year. “We are excited to have 88 golfers registered to play this Saturday,” according to Kirsten Maynard, director of the foundation. “Thanks to our sponsors, donors, and golfers, our Christmas for the Children Golf Tournament 2024 will be a great event.”
