March is National Music in Our Schools Month. Take time this month to celebrate and support our music programs in Newton-Conover City Schools.
Behind the scenes are many employees who work keeping things working and safe for our entire Newton-Conover City Schools Community. Scott, Mike M., Dennis, Jim, Jackie, Mike I., and Bart work daily to take on the never-ending maintenance work for our district. Please say thanks to our mainetenance department today, because today is Maintenance Appreciation Day 2024!
Newton-Conover City Schools celebrates the ongoing successes of our student-athletes both in the arena of competition as well as in the classroom. Congratulations are in order for these N-CHS Winter Sports teams with an average cumulative unweighted team Grade Point Average (GPA) of 3.0 or greater. Special thanks to our coaches and teachers who challenge and support our student-athletes to be the best version of themselves each and every day!! Congratulations to the Newton-Conover Middle School Lady Red Devil basketball team for winning the Catawba Valley Middle School Athletic Conference Tournament Championship last night vs. Jacob’s Fork Middle School. The LRD’s were the #4 seed in the tournament but rose to the occasion when it mattered most!!! We are very proud of the coaches and players for making history!!

Happy Groundhog Day! What do you think.... early spring or longer winter?
Newton-Conover City Schools is excited to announce that students at Conover School, Shuford, North Newton, and South Newton will be able to receive meals at no charge beginning Thursday, February 1st through the remainder of the 23-24 school year!
NCCS Board of Education voted to utilize the 'Community Eligibility Program' (CEP) for the listed schools for the remainder of the year, which is based on the percentage of students in the district that receive services through the state. This program requires approval on a year to year basis, and is not guaranteed each year.
It is important that households continue to complete meal applications to ensure the district receives the maximum amount of necessary funding for Title I and school grants each year.
