As the Spring Sports regular season is winding down, Newton-Conover City Schools wants to celebrate the strong academic performance of our N-CHS student-athletes. These Spring Sports athletic teams had an unweighted cumulative team Grade Point Average (GPA) of 3.0 or higher. N-CCS is proud of all our student-athletes because they are champions in the classroom as well as on the field of play.

A dash provides a perfect underline to write words or phrases to indicate meaning or personal connection to the words being connected by the dash. In that dash, our staff find their connection to Newton-Conover City Schools. Rebecca Schaeffer at Conover School DASH is… "I believe that every child can learn something from a teacher that cares and makes learning fun for them. In my classroom, my assistant and I remind our students that we are a family and that making memories from our experiences is key. We laugh, we cry, we care for each other. We do hands-on activities that might get messy from time to time, but it is worth it to have experiences that make memories. We take pictures throughout our year together and give each student a memory book at the end of the year to remind them of the experiences we have shared. We learn how to become more independent through daily practice. Over the past 8 years, I have seen many students complete their time at Conover School. It is emotional to watch these young people move on, but I am blessed to keep in touch with them and their families in the community outside of school. Another benefit to these young people leaving our school is that I am able to welcome more young people into my classroom family the following fall. I always say that I teach these students because I love them and want them to have the best life possible. I try to provide them with strategies and tools to be more independent in their daily lives. Although my role is to teach them, I feel each of them has taught me something over the years. I am blessed to be a teacher at Conover School." #whatdoesyourdashmean

A dash provides a perfect underline to write words or phrases to indicate meaning or personal connection to the words being connected by the dash. In that dash, our staff find their connection to Newton-Conover City Schools. Macie Korn at Shuford Elementary School DASH is… "IMPACT - Throughout my teaching career, I want to make a difference in this world by leaving a positive impact on every single person that I interact with. This includes my co-workers, administrators, program specialists, and the students I teach, have taught in the past, or just see in the hallway. As a special education teacher for our youngest students, I aim to build confidence in ALL students, regardless of their ability level. I prioritize building strong, positive relationships with every child and ensuring that their needs are met so that they can perform their best academically. My goal is to help students reach their full potential inside and outside of the classroom and support them in becoming successful learners and leaders." #whatdoesyourdashmean
