Congratulations to members of the Newton-Conover Middle School band (8th-graders and one 7th-grader). They received the highest rating of Superior for their performance. #groundedandgrowing


Congratulations Newton-Conover High School band! This past week, the band performed at Lenoir-Rhyne University for the State Music Performance Adjudication and received the highest rating of Superior. #groundedandgrowing


March is Music in Our Schools Month. We would like to showcase Ms. Roger's 7th-grade chorus class singing "The Storm is Passing Over" in the hallway. #groundedandgrowing


Senior Red Devil, Cassidy Geddes represented N-CHS and the state of NC in the NC/SC All-Star game in Wilmington this past weekend. NC Girls beat SC girls 85-56. #groundedandgrowing

NCMS CTE Department will be hosting 2 summer camps this year! Health Science Summer Camp and Pre-Engineering/Construction Summer Camp the week of June 12-15. Which one will you choose?

On March 20th, architects from Little Diversified Architecture presented proposed plans for new construction and renovations that will be taking place at Newton-Conover High School in the near future. Community members, parents, and students attended to learn more about the project and catch a glimpse of the future of the N-CHS campus. At the March 20th board meeting, Dr. Gabriel recognized Gissel Jimenez. She auditioned and was selected as the 1st Soprano in the 400-strong Mars Hill Choral Festival Choir on February 17-18. Today Courtney Bumgarner, Instructor from the Mobile Dairy Classroom by Southwest Dairy Farmers, presented to the 6th and 8th graders at N-CMS! She brought Maple the cow too for the milking demonstration!
The students learned:
-Characteristics and anatomy of dairy cows
-The importance of dairy foods for good health
-The modern milking process
-Modern environmental and food safety practices
