N-CHS - CTE construction program collaborates with DSS Senior Sevices to support seniors with necessary home repairs for access and safety. This home needed a small ramp for handicapped access. The homeowner purchased the materials and N-CHS students completed the build. In situations where the homeowner cannot purchase necessary building materials, N-CHS is a building partner of Habitat for Humanity's home repair program funded by the United Way. The home repair program can help provide the materials for the student build. This collaboration creates access and safety for our seniors while our high school students practice a skilled trade through community service. #groundedandgrowing #livingunited #828isgreat #serve #collaboration #community

At the November 21st board meeting, Josh Weese, principal of Conover School, recognized students, staff, and community members for their contribution to the school. Hope Community Church, staff member Melissa Johnson and student Andrew Miller were all recognized. #groundedandgrowing

We had 36 students representing the Newton-Conover Band at the All-County Band. They racked up quite a bit of hardware. First-place awards in multiple categories, and they never received a rating below a Superior.

Brianna Harwood, Kelly Lail, Hiley Davis, Tammy Brown, Cheryl Rhea, and Shawn Duncan attended the NAGC 22 - National AIG Conference last week.
There is no school November 23rd, 24th and 25th. School resumes November 28th.
N-CHS math teacher and Northwest Regional Teacher of the Year Ashley Bandy and her Teacher of the Year Cohort were recognized Tuesday at the annual North Carolina Awards ceremony hosted by Governor Cooper in Raleigh. Ashley is pictured alongside her Cohort and Governor Cooper.
Today, N-CCS had 150 Thanksgiving boxes donated by Food Lion of Newton. Thank you Food Lion and manager Smokey Williams for giving back to our students and families. #groundedandgrowing
