Mrs. Glover is in her fifth year as Instructional Coach at North Newton Elementary School. She has enjoyed a career in Newton-Conover City Schools as an accomplished teacher at Shuford Elementary School. Mrs. Glover is very thoughtful in her interactions and very skilled in supporting instructional staff. Mrs. Hager brings a wealth of experience and expertise to the Assistant Principal role at North Newton Elementary School. She taught for many years at Thornton Elementary and became the Instructional Coach at North Newton Elementary School when it opened. Mrs. Hager has also served as an Intervention Specialist for N-CCS where she provided support for our most at-risk students at the elementary school level. Mrs. Hager’s compassion, passion, and vision make her very unique and perfectly suited to serve as Assistant Principal at NNES!! #whatdoesyourdashmean

Newton-Conover Middle School Principal Billy Cannon won the "Master Pumpkin Carver Award!"

N-CCS Principals became Pumpkin Carvers in a Team-Building and Self-Reflection activity at the October 19, 2023 Principals Meeting.

Newton-Conover Middle School Teacher were recognized by the N-CCS Board of Education at its October 16, 2023 meeting. Recognized were: A. Escamilla, T. McGill, R. Isaac, S. Ramsey, S. Rogers, and L-A Boggs.

N-CCS Board of Education and NCMS recognized volunteer Mark Pennell for his contributions to the school at its October 16, 2023 meeting.

The N-CCS Board of Education recognized Newton-Conover Middle School volunteer Laurie Joplin for her contributions to the school.

N-CCS Board recognized NCMS A. Fletcher and C. McElhone for their excellences as students.

At its October 16, 2023 Board Meeting, the NCHS NJROTC Colorguard Members presented the Colors. Cadet Lt. Commander C Martin, Cadet Ensign J Gobble, Cadet Petty Office 2nd Class White and Petty Officer 2nd Class Vengas.

Mrs. Humphrey is in her second stint as Instructional Coach at Shuford Elementary School. She has also served as Principal at South Newton Elementary School, so she has a unique skill set that benefits her school community. Under her tutelage, Shuford Elementary consistently meets or exceeds state growth expectations. She has a great sense of humor and helps put staff and students at ease. Her love of the process of teaching and learning is evident. She is an asset to the Shuford Elementary School community! #whatdoesyourdashmean

Mrs. Rozzelle moved into the administrative ranks at Shuford Elementary School last year after a successful run as a 5th grade teacher. A 2009 graduate of Newton-Conover High School, Cayley is a shining example of the type of alumni N-CCS produces!! Cayley’s knowledge of Shuford Elementary and its school community will make her adjustment smooth. Her boundless energy and enthusiasm are contagious and make her a favorite in the school community. She will continue to be an excellent resource to both staff and students at Shuford Elementary! #whatdoesyourdashmean

Our school spotlight turns to North Newton Elementary School. North Newton Elementary is proud to offer a Spanish Dual Language Immersion program beginning in 1st Grade and extending through 5th Grade. North prides themselves in its schools' diversity, with students and teachers from all over the American continent such as Mexico, Peru, and Venezuela. Newton-Conover City Schools is pleased to announce that Mrs. Tabetha Reynolds has been chosen as the new Assistant Principal - Behavior Interventionist at South Newton Elementary School. Mrs. Reynolds is in her 14th year of teaching with five of those years being in the Newton-Conover City Schools system. Prior to coming to South Newton Elementary, Mrs. Reynolds had also served as a Curriculum Specialist, Assistant Principal, and Principal at Tuttle Elementary, Challenger Early College High School, and Clyde Campbell Elementary, respectively. Mrs. Reynolds earned her B.S. in Elementary Education from the University of North Carolina in Greensboro. And, then while working full-time, she earned her Masters degree in Education followed by an add-on licensure in school administration from Appalachian State University. While at South Newton Elementary School, she has taught 2nd and 3rd grade, and she achieved her National Board Certification while with Newton-Conover City Schools. She currently serves as the third-grade team leader, and she has become very knowledgeable about Read to Achieve assessments and the upper elementary curriculum. Furthermore, she serves as one of the PBIS (Positive Behavior Intervention and Support) Action Team leaders for SNES. She is excited to be able to continue to build relationships with students, staff, parents, and community members in this new leadership role within the school community. Mrs. Moseley, principal, highlights her dedication to South Newton Elementary over the last five years through remote learning instruction and two years of high turnover rates for teachers. “Mrs. Reynolds has faithfully remained at South Newton Elementary and worked to build strong relationships with some of our students who have been the hardest to reach. She has experience with the implementation of a variety of behavior intervention plans, and working with students as they transition from the SNES SOAR Room to the classroom.” Mrs. Reynolds is married to Chris Reynolds and they have two sons, Brennan and Kason, both of whom currently attend South Newton Elementary School. Quote: “I am thrilled to continue at South Newton in this new role as assistant principal. I am passionate about continuing to build relationships with our amazing students, their families, and the community while working alongside the dedicated staff at South Newton as we strive to support our students and inspire them to be lifelong learners.”

Mrs. Gullick is a full-time administrative intern at Newton-Conover Middle School where she has assumed the full responsibilities of assistant principal. Jami was a magnificent elementary school teacher at Shuford Elementary School prior to embarking on her admin internship. Mrs. Gullick understands children and how to make them feel special about themselves. This talent will come in handy at N-CMS. We are excited to see Jami grow and develop into a quality administrator for our system. #whatdoesyourdashmean
